❖ Heads up! This article is intended for Advanced Program Managers—a role available only on Amplify sites. You may also see this role referred to simply as Program Manager; both terms refer to the same user type.
If you ever need to update an existing Opportunity for your Programs, you can from the Opportunities area of your dashboard! Here we cover:
How to Update an Opportunity
Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities.
Select the Opportunity Title for the Opportunity you need to update from the table.
Update all applicable fields.
Click Update Opportunity when you're finished to save your changes!
If your Opportunity has already received volunteer responses, we highly recommend that you check the box beside Notify respondents of this update? before you click Update Opportunity.
When you check this box, it triggers a notification that tells users about changes to the Opportunity they responded to.
Updating Duration Types
You can change the duration type for Opportunities that use Flexible, Happens On, or Multi-Date settings. For Opportunities with Custom or Recurring Shifts, you'll need to clone the Opportunity or create a new one to change the duration type.
Changing an Opportunity’s duration type may lead to data issues, such as volunteers being unable to log hours. To avoid this, we recommend cloning the Opportunity or creating a new one with the correct duration type.
How to Clone an Opportunity
To clone an Opportunity with Custom or Recurring Shifts:
Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities.
Select the Opportunity Title you want to clone.
Scroll to the Additional Options field.
Click Clone Opportunity.
A warning pops up to ask if you want to clone the Opportunity. Click Yes to confirm or No to cancel.
Now you can change the duration type and update that Opportunity however you need to!
Don't forget to click Create Opportunity when you're done!
