Cloning Opportunities: Program Managers

How Program Managers can copy, or "clone" volunteer Opportunities

❖ Heads up! This article is intended for Program Managersβ€”a role available only on Amplify sites. You may also see this role referred to as Advanced Program Manager; both terms refer to the same user type.

By the end of this article, you will be able to:

  • Clone an existing Opportunity

  • Update the cloned Opportunity before publishing

  • Understand what does not carry over during cloning

Overview

Cloning allows you to recreate an Opportunity without building it from scratch.

This is especially useful for Opportunities that use:

  • Custom Shifts

  • Recurring Shifts

Important

The Duration Type does not carry over when cloning.

Be sure to manually select the correct Duration Type before creating the cloned Opportunity.

Getting Started

  1. Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities.

  2. Click on the Opportunity Title for the one you need to clone.

  3. Scroll to the Additional Options section and click Clone Opportunity.

  4. Click Yes to confirm this action or No to cancel.

  5. Apply the desired changes to the cloned Opportunity.

  6. Don't forget to click Create Opportunity when you're done!

We recommend deactivating the original Opportunity if it doesn't have volunteer responses.

You can also rename the original Opportunity to draw more attention to it.
