❖ Heads up! This article is only intended for Advanced Program Managers. Advanced Program Managers are only available on Amplify sites. Please note, you may see or hear Advanced Program Managers referred to as Program Managers. This is the same user role type.

Do you need to remove or close an Opportunity? You can either set it to Inactive or Deactivate it! You might want to change the status of an Opportunity to Inactive or deactivate it if:

  • You plan to recreate it in the future.

  • You want to remove it from public view for now or before users respond to it.

  • It was canceled or it was a one-time event that didn't have any hours submitted to it and won't be recreated in the future.

You can always change the status of an Opportunity back to Active. If the Opportunity has submitted hours, they still appear to you and the volunteers who submitted them.

Changing an Opportunity's Status to Inactive

1. Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities.

2. Click on the Opportunity Title.

3. Select Inactive from the Status dropdown.

4. Click Update Opportunity to save your changes!

If volunteers have already responded to this Opportunity, then be sure to check the box beside Notify respondents of this update? to make them aware of any changes.

Deactivating an Opportunity

1. Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities.

2. Click on the Opportunity Title.

3. Scroll down until you see the red Deactivate Opportunity button and click it.

4. Select Yes to confirm this action or No to cancel.
