❖ Heads up! This article is intended for Advanced Program Managersβ€”a role available only on Amplify sites. You may also see this role referred to simply as Program Manager; both terms refer to the same user type.

By the end of this article, you will be able to:

  • Set an Opportunity to Inactive

  • Deactivate an Opportunity

  • Choose the right option based on your needs

Deactivating Opportunities

You can remove an Opportunity from public view by either:

  • Setting its Status to Inactive, or

  • Using the Deactivate Opportunity option

When to Set an Opportunity to Inactive

Set the Opportunity to Inactive if:

  • You plan to reuse it later

  • You want to hide it from volunteers temporarily

  • The Opportunity was canceled

  • It was a one-time event with no submitted hours

You can set the Opportunity back to Active at any time.

If volunteers have already logged hours, those hours will remain visible to you and to the volunteers who submitted them.

Get Started

  1. Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities.

  2. Click on the Opportunity Title.

  3. Select Inactive from the Status dropdown.

  4. Click Update Opportunity to save your changes!

If volunteers have already responded to this Opportunity, then be sure to check the box beside Notify respondents of this update? to make them aware of any changes.

Deactivating an Opportunity

  1. Go to Volunteerism > Opportunities.

  2. Click on the Opportunity Title.

  3. Scroll down until you see the red Deactivate Opportunity button and click it.

  4. Select Yes to confirm this action or No to cancel.
