❖Heads up! This article is intended for Site Managers.

By the end of this article, you will be able to:

  • Identify which users have an Imported status.

  • Activate imported users individually or in bulk.

  • Understand what happens when accounts are activated.

Get Started

After importing users, their accounts are assigned the Imported status. Before your site goes live, you’ll need to activate them. You can activate all imported users at once or selectively based on filters such as location, tags, or status.

When you activate users:

  • Their status changes from Imported to Active.

  • Each receives a welcome email with login instructions and a temporary password.

  • Users cannot log in, respond to Needs or Opportunities, or log hours until activated.

Activating Imported Users

  1. Go to Volunteerism > Users. A list of users is displayed.

  2. Click on User Filter to open the user filter, then run a filter on User Data > User Status > is > imported.

  3. Click Submit to view only those users with an imported status.

  4. From the Select an Action dropdown, select Activate Imported Users.

  5. Click the Activate Imported Users button to confirm your selection. Once you do this, two things happen:

  • The users' statuses change from Imported to Active

  • Each user receives an email that

    • welcomes them to your site and

    • provides a temporary password so that they can log into the site.

The template for this message is titled "User Imported Message."
