Custom, Disaster, and Standard Questions in Your Disaster Track

Heads up! This article is intended for Site Managers with the Activate disaster dashboard enabled on their site.

By the end of this article, you will be able to:

  • Access and manage Standard Questions for your Disaster Track.

  • Manage Disaster Questions provided by default.

  • Create and manage your own Custom Questions.

Managing Standard Questions

When managing your Disaster Track, you can choose to ask specific Standard, Disaster, or Custom Questions during volunteer registration. Standard Questions are designed to collect general information from volunteers, and you can decide whether to show or require each one.

To access and manage Standard Questions:

  1. Go to your Disaster Dashboard.

  2. Select the Disaster Set Up dropdown and click Registration Track under Step 2: Review your Registration Track.

  3. Click the Standard Questions tab.

Now you can manage those questions:

  • Check Show to make a Standard Question optional for volunteers to answer.

  • Check Require to make a Standard Question required for volunteers to answer.

Disaster and Custom Questions

You can select from a list of default Disaster Questions or create your own Custom Questions.

Default Disaster and Standard Questions cannot be edited.

To access and manage these questions:

  1. Go to your Disaster Dashboard.

  2. Select the Disaster Set Up dropdown and click Registration Track under Step 2: Review your Registration Track.

  3. Click the Custom Questions tab. From here, you can manage the default Disaster Questions or create and manage your own Custom Questions.

Managing Disaster Questions

We’ve provided a list of default Disaster Questions, each with preset answer options that cannot be edited. However, you can decide whether each question is shown or required when volunteers register through your Disaster Track.

To manage these questions:

  • Check Show to make a Disaster Question optional.

  • Check Require to make a Disaster Question required.

Q. Can I delete default Disaster or Standard Questions?
A. No. You can only choose whether to show or require them, but not delete or edit them.

Q. Can I customize the wording of Custom Questions?
A. Yes! You can fully customize the question text and answer types for any Custom Questions you create.
