Hello, aspiring Board Candidate and welcome to the help center! Here, we walk you through setting up your profile, exploring board positions, connecting with nonprofits, and joining a board.
Getting Started
When you find the site you want to sign up for:
1. Click I'm a Candidate to get started.
2. Click Sign Up.
3. Complete the form, check the box beside Confirm acceptance of our Terms of Service, and click Sign Up.
4. Fill out your profile information and click Update Profile to finish. Now you can start looking for board positions to sign up for!
Example Profile
When you set up your profile, highlight your skills, expertise, interests, values, and board experience. This helps match you with boards that align with your skills and interests. A completed profile makes it easier for the board-matching algorithm to pair you with positions that align with your skills and background.
We do not share your phone or email until the nonprofit contacts you and you respond to them. This protects you and your data.
Before you respond to a nonprofit, the only thing they can see on your profile, if you filled in those fields, is:
Your name, skills, interests, and associated organization name
Your availability, education and training, background information, and experience
