Learn about the different language overrides available on your site

❖ Heads up! This article is intended for Site Managers. Only Site Managers can request language overrides for their sites.

Different sites use specific terms—e.g., Opportunities, Programs, etc. You can request a language override for certain terms to best suit your community and volunteer management needs. Here is a list of the words you can request an override for:

ℹ️ So you know: Language overrides aren't translated for sites using the French-translation option.

Terms

  • attribute

  • badge

  • benchmark

  • cluster

  • donate

  • donation

  • EIN

  • employee

  • help

  • initiative

  • miles (appears in the "Miles Traveled" field of the hour-submission form)

  • opportunity

  • partner

  • phrase (appears in the search dropdowns; can be replaced by "word," "keyword," etc.)

  • program

  • prerequisite

  • recent (appears in the "Recent Programs" and "Recent Opportunities" headings on the volunteer dashboard)

  • respond (response and respondent cannot be overridden)

  • resume (as in "volunteer resume")

  • skill

  • site supervisor

  • state

  • team

  • user group

  • virtual

  • volunteer (as an adjective: volunteer hours, volunteer schedule, volunteer email, etc.)

  • waiver (override applies to both eSign and click-wrap waivers)

  • worked (appears in the "Hours Worked" field of the hour-submission form)

  • ZIP code

This text shows up for volunteers if you are utilizing a clickwrap waiver on one or more Needs or Opportunities.

Making a donation to your local United Way

Shows up in a pop-up once someone has responded to a need or made a donation through the Connect site
Note: You can disable the pop-up completely in your Settings > Main Settings area.

Miles Traveled

Appears in the "Miles Traveled" field of the hour-submission form

Our Community

Appears above the image rotator on the user dashboard

A button that appears in the utility bar at the top of any page in the non-manager view of the site

As a phrase rather than individual words, appears on the agency profile
