Amplify Sites: User Types

Learn about the different user types on your Amplify site

❖Heads up! This article is intended for Amplify Site Managers.

Your site has a few different types of users accessing it, including manager types and non-manager types.

Main User Types

Site Manager

Site Managers have full administrative control over the site, including branding, user management, communication tools, and reporting.


Amplify sites are limited to two Site Managers.

  • Customize site branding (colors, logo, and layout)

  • Manage volunteer schedules

  • Create and approve Opportunities and Programs

  • Edit notification templates and send email blasts

  • Access and export canned reports

  • Add and manage Opportunities, Qualifications, Teams, User Groups, and users

  • Navigate site-wide tools via the Site Manager panel

  • Export data for internal or external reporting

  • Set benchmarks to recognize volunteer milestones

Advanced Program Manager

Advanced Program Managers control assigned Programs, including volunteer management, scheduling, and content editing. They do not have access to site-wide tools.


Amplify sites only.

  • Manage volunteers within assigned Programs (hours, info, qualifications, responses)

  • Post and manage volunteer Opportunities

  • Schedule volunteers for Opportunities

  • Edit assigned Programs

  • Launch and manage the Check-in Kiosk

  • Create and manage Teams

  • Send email blasts to Program volunteers

Also referred to as “Program Manager” in some areas of the platform

Program Facilitator

Program Facilitators support Site Managers and Advanced Program Managers by assisting with Program oversight and coordination.

  • Review volunteer activity, including who’s volunteering today

  • Monitor available Opportunities, volunteer responses, and qualifications

  • Export data for reporting

  • Monitor and manage the Check-in Kiosk

Volunteers

Anyone can volunteer, including Site Managers, Advanced Program Managers, and Program Facilitators. Volunteers primarily respond to Opportunities and track their hours.

Non-manager roles are called Users on the site.

  • Search for Opportunities by date, location, skills, and more

  • Sign up for Opportunities individually or as a team

  • Receive system emails and notifications

  • View and download their volunteer resume

  • Submit and track volunteer hours

Site Supervisor

A Site Supervisor serves as the main volunteer contact, with their name and email visible on the site and included in FEMA reports as needed.

  • Display name and email on the public-facing site

  • Include contact info in FEMA reports (when applicable)

User Group Leader

User Group Leaders manage User Groups, overseeing membership and tracking group activity.

  • Add and remove User Group members

  • View User Group member names and emails

  • Access total volunteer responses and hours for the group

  • Edit User Groups with the same permissions as a Site Manager
