If your organization wants to collect donations through the site, then we have a few options to help you get started.
Donations with Stripe
The first option is to set up a Stripe account and integrate that with your Get Connected site. You will need a Stripe account to use this method. When you set up donations with a Stripe account, volunteers see a Donate button in their utility bar.
ℹ️ So you know: Stripe charges a flat rate of 2.9% plus 30¢ for each successful card charge. Get Connected does not receive a percentage of the donations made through your site.
Set up
First, you'll need to set up a Stripe account. Once you have your Stripe account, be sure to copy your API keys, including your Publishable Key and Secret Key. These are found on the API keys page of your Stripe account dashboard. Once you have your account and keys:
Go to Settings > Integrations > Stripe Information.
Copy and paste your Publishable Key and Secret Key into their fields.
Customize the Introduction and Thank-you messages as applicable.
Click Submit Changes to finish.
Donations Without Stripe
You can also set up donations without Stripe on your site; however, the Donate button won't appear on the toolbar if you use one of these methods. Here are some of the suggested ways to do this:
Create a Spotlight with a link to the donation software of your choice.
Add a link to your donation software in a Rotator Image.
Create a Custom Page that includes additional information about how to collect donations, links to the donation software, and where the proceeds go.
