A Center Site Manager's guide to Causes

❖ Heads up! This article is only intended for Center Site Managers.

Custom Causes (also called Core Causes) help guide volunteers to your organization. You’ll start with a set of default Causes, but you can rename or create your own to better match your Programs and community.

We also offer national benchmark reporting, so you can compare your performance with similar organizations.

Causes may not be enabled by default. To request access, use the Messages Widget in your Site Manager Dashboard to contact our team.

Here are some examples:

If you have an Agency that manages a food pantry in your community...

You could select Hunger and Food Accessibility, and then name your Cause Feed the Hungry

If you have an Agency that manages an after-school tutoring program for a middle school Language Arts class...

You could select Education, and then name your Cause, Language Arts Tutoring

If you have an Agency that offers assistance at animal shelters...

You could select Animal Welfare and name your Cause, Veterinary Aid

Creating Custom Causes

  1. Go to Settings > Causes.

  2. Click Add A New Cause.

  3. Select a Default Cause with the Select Cause dropdown and give your Cause a Name.

  4. Select an Icon and Color for your Cause.

  5. Click Submit Cause to finish.
