By the end of this article, you will be able to:
Schedule volunteers from the Scheduling area
Schedule volunteers directly from a user's profile
Invite volunteers to sign up for available shifts
Scheduling Volunteers for an Opportunity
Once your volunteer Opportunity is set up, you can schedule volunteers using the Scheduling area. This applies to Opportunities with the following duration types:
Custom Shifts
Recurring Shifts
Happens On
Schedule Volunteers via the Scheduling Area
Go to Volunteerism > Scheduling.
Choose one of the following:
Select Options > Schedule users for this shift.
(Optional) Click View available volunteers to see who is eligible.
Use Search by Name or Email to find and schedule a volunteer.
Note: A volunteer must have already responded to the Opportunity to be scheduled.
Schedule Volunteers from a User Profile
You can also schedule volunteers directly from the Users area.
Go to Volunteerism > Users.
Select the user.
Click Schedule.
Click Schedule again to begin.
Choose the relevant shift(s), if applicable.
Click Continue, review the details, and select Add to List.
When ready, click Schedule.
Invite Volunteers to Sign Up for a Shift
Instead of scheduling volunteers directly, you can invite available volunteers to sign up. This sends them the Schedule Recruitment notification with Opportunity details and a signup link.
Go to Volunteerism > Scheduling.
Select the Opportunity title in the calendar.
Click View available volunteers.
Scroll to Available Volunteers.
Check the boxes next to the volunteers you want to invite.
Click Invite Volunteers.
In the confirmation pop-up:
Select Yes to send the notification.
Select No to cancel.
Invited volunteers will receive an email with Opportunity information and a link to sign up.
