โ Heads up! This article is only intended for Site Managers.
Once you've set up a volunteer Need or Opportunity, it's time to schedule volunteers. You can schedule volunteers for Needs or Opportunities from the Scheduling area. This is only for Needs or Opportunities with the Custom Shifts, Recurring Shifts, and Happens On duration types.
โน๏ธ So you know: Some sites have language overrides in place. This means you might see Needs in place of Opportunities, Agencies in place of Programs, or Prerequisites in place of Qualifications.

One way you can schedule volunteers outside of the Scheduling area is directly from the User's profile.
Go to Volunteerism > Users.
Select the user.
Click Schedule.
Click Schedule.
Select the shifts if the Need/Opportunity has them.
Click Continue.
Verify the user's information and click Add to List.
Click the Schedule button when finished.

Another option is to alert available volunteers about a Need/Opportunity by inviting them from the Scheduling area. This option sends the Schedule Recruitment notification to those volunteers.
Go to Volunteersim > Scheduling.
Select the Need or Opportunity title in the calendar.
Click View available volunteers.
Scroll to Available Volunteers.
Check the boxes beside the volunteers you wish to send the notification to.
Click Invite Volunteers.
A warning pops up asking you to confirm your selections.
Click Yes to confirm or No to cancel.
If you click Yes, then the notification is triggered and those users receive the Schedule Recruitment notification in their inbox.
