❖ Heads up! This article is only intended for Site Managers.

Your volunteers contribute their skills and time to making incredible impacts in your community—and you can show them appreciation! Benchmarks are a great feature for both showing appreciation and encouraging volunteer engagement.

The Benchmark area of your site lets you set up certain goals for volunteers to reach. Once they've met a goal (e.g., 10 volunteer hours), they receive a badge.

This achievement is displayed in their profile area and volunteer resume!

ℹ️ So you know: Some sites have language overrides in place. This means you might see Needs in place of Opportunities, Agencies in place of Programs, or Prerequisites in place of Qualifications.

Adding Benchmarks

  1. Go to Volunteerism > Benchmarks.

  2. Click Add New Benchmark.

  3. Now customize your benchmark.

    • Status: Choose the status of the benchmark.

      • Active: This means the benchmark is active and will be applied to accounts that meet the benchmark's requirements.

      • Pending: This means the benchmark isn't active, but you can return to finish editing it and set it to Active later.

      • Inactive: Use this when you want to deactivate a benchmark.

    • Title: Give the benchmark a relevant title, e.g. Superstar Vol.

    • Badge: Select the badge you want to be rewarded for this benchmark.

    • Hours Required: Enter the number of volunteer hours required to meet this benchmark.

    • Start Date and End Date: Establish the start and end dates that the benchmark will be rewarded for.

      • Only the hours submitted within the specified date range will be considered for the benchmark.

    • Approval Required: Toggle this On if hours must be approved to count toward the benchmark goal.

    • Allow Individual Hours: Toggle this On if you want to allow Individual Hours to count toward the benchmark goal.

    • User Group: If you select a User Group, then the benchmark will only be rewarded to that User Group's members when they submit volunteer hours for the group.
