How to Import Volunteers
Prepare Your Spreadsheet
Prepare a spreadsheet with columns for First Name, Last Name, and Email.
You may also add columns for Mobile Phone, Location, Department, Job Role, Employee ID, Date of Birth, Postal Code, Role, and Tags.
You can use Tags to view extra information about the volunteer and search for them in the Users page. For example, you may want to add a tag for all employee volunteers who are interested in volunteering outdoors.
Save the spreadsheet as a CSV file.
Import Your Volunteers
From your Admin Dashboard, navigate to Users.
Click Bulk import users.
Select Browse and locate your prepared spreadsheet.
Use the Column Title dropdowns to map each column to the correct data type.
To send invitation emails to the imported users, toggle Send invite emails to all my imported volunteers to On.
Click Import [#] volunteers, then Done to complete.
You’ll receive an email notification once the import is finished, keeping you informed every step of the way.
Duplicates
If someone in your file already has an account on your site with the same email address, they're skipped and counted as a duplicate. For example, re-importing a file of three people who are already on your site shows 0 imported and 3 duplicates. Their existing information isn't changed.
What your volunteers receive
If you turned on invite emails, each volunteer gets an email inviting them to join your company's volunteer program.
When they click Accept Invitation in the notification, they're taken to a page where they set their password. After that, they're ready to start searching for opportunities and connecting with nonprofits in their community.
Inviting Individual Volunteers
You may also invite individuals to join your platform. You can do this by clicking Invite a user, entering some basic information, and submitting the invite. This triggers an email to them, as well as generating a link you can share with them directly.
