Information about site design and important account management for Volunteer Link Admins

Written by Autum Martin

By the end of this article, you will be able to:

  • Update your site branding

  • Preview design changes

  • Manage account and billing details

Overview of Settings

The Settings area allows you to tailor your site to reflect your company’s brand and manage essential account details.

  • Go to Settings > Site Design to update branding elements and customize the look and feel of your Volunteer Link site, ensuring a consistent, professional experience for your employees.

  • Navigate to Settings > Account and Billing to review and update billing information, account contacts, and other key administrative details.

Site Design Preview

Use the Site Design Preview to edit the look of your Volunteer Link site. You can see what your logo will look like, edit the banner, add content, and edit the text. The previewer lets you see what it will look like to users before those changes are live!

Set your volunteer program name

  1. Enter your program's name in the Volunteer Program Name field.

  2. Click the Save button beside the field.

This name is used in the emails your users receive when you invite them to your site, so choose the name your employees will recognize.

This field has its own Save button. Save changes at the top of the builder doesn't save it, so save the name as soon as you enter it.

Design Your Landing Page

Logo

Click Edit Logo, choose your company's logo, and click Upload Image. Recommended size: 222 × 40 pixels (width × height).

Banner

Click Edit Banner, choose your image, and click Upload Image. Use it to match your brand colors or to feature something happening that day. Recommended size: 1000 × 300 pixels (width × height).

Images can be up to 5 MB. Once an image is set, the upload button reads Replace image.

Text Box

Click Edit Content and use the text editor to write a welcome message, share program details, or add anything else you want volunteers to read when they arrive. You can add headings, bullet lists, and links.

Promos

Promos are clickable blocks that take volunteers straight to the opportunities or resources you want to highlight. You can set up to three promos. They appear on your landing page, the search page, and the organizations search page.

Section Title

Click Edit Hero Title and enter a heading for your promo section. It appears above your promos on the landing page. The text editor also supports headings, bullet lists, and links.

To create a promo:

  1. Click Create Promo.

  2. Upload an image. Recommended size: 187 × 187 pixels (square).

  3. Give the promo a title.

  4. Choose a promo type (see below) and fill in its details. Click Create Promotion.

To change a promo you've already created, click Edit Promo, make your changes, and click Update Promotion.

Promo Types

  • Date Range of Opportunity: opens a search filtered to opportunities within the dates you choose. Good for a week of service or a company volunteer day.

  • Cause: opens a search filtered to the cause you select. Good for highlighting a cause your company supports.

  • Type of Opportunity: opens a search filtered to that type of opportunity. Good for showing outdoor, virtual, or family-friendly opportunities, or ones that allow teams.

  • Custom URL: opens the link you enter. Good for an employee FAQ, an instructional video, or any website you want volunteers to reach.

A Custom URL must be a full web address that starts with https://. Anything else won't work.
