Updated over a month ago

Heads up! This article is only intended for Site Managers who are sharing content with Volunteer Link.

By the end of this article, you will be able to:

  • Understand where corporate project requests come from

  • Recognize what is included in a project request

  • Determine who receives project requests using the Corporate Project Contact setting

Where Corporate Project Requests Come From

Corporate project requests originate from Volunteer Link when a company submits a project inquiry connected to your site.

These requests are sent directly to an individual you designate as the Corporate Project Contact for your Center site as a way for corporate partners to express interest in working with you on a structured volunteer project.

This creates a clear, centralized pathway for:

  • New corporate volunteer engagement

  • Exciting new partnerships

  • Potential funding from corporate volunteer contributions

What The Project Request Looks Like

The individual designated as the Corporate Project Contact will receive an email when a company submits a project request to your site. The email, titled You have a new corporate volunteer project request from {{VL site name}}, will include a PDF detailing the scope of the project, including:

  • Name of the requesting company

  • Project Budget

  • Specified causes and skills associated with the project

  • The type of project, number of volunteers needed, etc.

If you have any questions regarding the project request, please reach out to the company that made the request directly.

How To Determine Who Gets The Request (Corporate Project Contact)

Project requests are sent to the person designated as your Corporate Project Contact in your site's main settings.

To set or update this:

  1. Go to Settings > Main Settings.

  2. Find the Corporate Partner Contact name and email fields under Site Information and enter those details in the fields.

  3. Click Update Site Information to save your changes.

Only the person listed here will receive new corporate project request notifications, so it’s important to keep this setting up to date.

Why Is This Good For Me?

Receiving corporate project requests is a valuable opportunity for your site and your organization.

These requests can help you:

  • Bring in more volunteers through structured corporate projects

  • Strengthen relationships with corporate partners, which can lead to increased financial support or sponsorship

  • Grow your corporate engagement strategy in a more intentional way

This is a great opportunity to connect with new volunteers, deepen existing partnerships, and expand your corporate engagement efforts.

These requests can also open the door to paid engagements and longer-term collaborations. You can review all relevant details, including budget, in the attached PDF to determine whether the opportunity is a good fit for your site.
