Interests help connect volunteers with Needs that match their strengths. When volunteers search your site, they can filter by Cause, location, or Interests, making it easier to find the roles where they can contribute most effectively.
Default Interests: Your site comes with a list of Default Interests that you can use.
Custom Interests: You can also create Custom Interests if the default list doesn't have what you're looking for.

If you have volunteer Needs to work in a food pantry... | Add custom Interests like Cooking, Food Prep, or Food Handling |
Creating Custom Interests
Go to Settings > Interests.
Click Add a New Interest.
Enter the new Interest name, then select an icon and color for it.
Click Submit Interest to finish.
Editing Interests
Go to Settings > Interests.
Click the pencil icon under the Options column for the one you want to edit.
Click Pick an Icon and select the Icon you want to change to.
Click in the Color field to access the color selector.
If you already know the hex code for the color, just type it into the Color field.
If you don't already know the hex code, click in the field and use the color selector to find the one that's right for you.
When you're ready, click Submit Interest to finish.
