Heads up! This article is only intended for Site Managers.

Your Get Connected site includes powerful data tools and services to help you launch quickly and manage your volunteer data efficiently. Below is a breakdown of what’s included, what’s available for purchase, and answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Data Import FAQ

Q: What is a data import?
A: It pre-populates your site with info like Agency or Program profiles, volunteer profiles, and Needs or Opportunities (no shifts).

Q: Who assists with data imports?
A: A data specialist will guide you. Basic spreadsheet knowledge is helpful.

Q: What’s included in the two free data imports?

A: The included import content depends on the product you have.


Sustain includes:

  • User profile info

  • Historic hour totals per user

Amplify & Center includes:

  • Users

  • Agencies

  • Needs (current/future)

  • Hours (individual, sum, or detail),

  • Track Assignment

  • User Group profiles

Q: Need more than that?
A: Custom imports are available for:

  • Hours entries per user, linked to Needs or Opportunities already on your site

  • Responses (for Needs or Opportunities already on your site)

  • User profiles

  • Historical Needs or Opportunities

Import Tool Training

You can purchase a one-time training for $100 to manage future imports yourself. A Data Specialist will lead a Zoom session to walk you through it. *This is for Amplify and Center clients only.

Custom Vanity Domain FAQ

Q: What is it?
A: A personalized URL (e.g., volunteers.yourorg.org instead of yourorg.galaxydigital.com).

Q: What do I need to know?
A: You must already own the domain to access and create domain records.

Q: Who handles setup?
A: A Data Specialist provides DNS records and finalizes setup on our end.

Q: Costs?

A: $250 one-time setup and $100/year AWS certificate management. You must already own the domain.

Custom Reports FAQ

Q: What is a custom report?
A: A fully customized report built to your exact specifications and needs.

Q: How does it work?
A: A data specialist helps define your needs, then our dev team builds it from scratch.

Q: Cost?

A: $75/hr, with a 2-hour minimum. You’ll be invoiced after the report is finalized to reflect the total work time.

You can also review the first draft and request changes before finalizing and invoicing takes place.

Single Sign-On (SSO) FAQ

Q: What is SSO?
A: SSO (Single Sign-On) lets users log into your Get Connected site using login credentials from another system your organization already manages, like a university login, employee portal, or school email. This means users don’t have to create a separate Get Connected account; they simply use the login they already know.

Q: What’s required?

A: The following is required for SSO:

  • Your site’s live URL

  • If you want a vanity domain, set it up before SSO

  • Advanced tech knowledge (e.g., domain record access and metadata)

Q: Who helps with setup?
A: A data specialist guides you via email or Zoom.

Q: Cost?

A: $500 one-time setup and $350/year ongoing maintenance.

Email Campaign Customization

The Email-From Address for your site, which is used to send manual email blasts and automatic notifications, is set to no-reply@galaxydigital.com by default. If you prefer, you can switch to a custom-branded email. This process is free and only requires that you go through the verification process.

Step 1: AWS Verification

  1. Go to Settings > Main Settings.

  2. Scroll to the Emails section.

  3. Select Click if this email address needs to be verified.

  4. Enter the Email From Address.

  5. Click Submit.

  6. Click the verification link sent to your email to continue the verification process.

  7. Follow the steps from AWS.

Once your email has been verified, it will appear with a green check beside it under Settings > Main Settings > Emails > Email From Address, like so:

Check your Spam folder if you don't see the verification email. We also recommend adding no-reply-aws@amazon.com to your contacts to ensure email delivery.

Finally, the email always comes through with the following subject line, "Amazon Web Services - Email Address Verification Request in region US East (N. Virginia)," so if you don't see it right away, try searching your inbox by this subject line.

Step 2: DKIM Setup

  • Add DKIM records (provided by us) to your domain

Benefits:

  • Improves email delivery

  • Strengthens your organization’s branding

  • Keeps emails from being incorrectly marked as spam

  • Helps prevent false reports of spoofing and spam

Prerequisites and Qualifications FAQ

We can add statuses to user profiles for Prerequisites or Qualifications via a Data Import.

Q: Can I create multiple Prerequisites or Qualifications via a Data Import?
A: No. We can only add statuses to user profiles for existing Prerequisites or Qualifications on your site.
