About Google Analytics

Google Analytics helps you measure visitor activity, popular pages, and engagement with your volunteer Needs and Agencies. To use it, you’ll need two key components:

  • Tracking Tags (or Pixels): Small snippets of code that capture user interactions on your site.

  • Tracking IDs: Unique identifiers that connect your site to your Google Analytics account.

Tracking Data with Google Analytics

To use Google Analytics on your site, you must first sign up for it through the Google Marketing Platform.

  1. Go to the Google Marketing Platform and click Get Started Today.

  2. Select Start Measuring and fill out your information.

  3. Google provides a tracking ID, which is needed to track data on your site.

  4. Go to Settings > Main Settings > Tracking & Analytics.

  5. Paste the tracking ID in the Google Analytics field and click Update Tracking & Analytics Settings.

We support GA 5 Tags—G-XXXXXXXXXX. Once you enter your code, you should be able to start accessing your data within 24 hours.
