What Are Clusters?
You can create special tags for categorizing items like volunteer Needs on your site, called Clusters. Clusters add an extra layer of organization beyond Causes or Interests—making it easier for you and volunteers to find related items.
Volunteers can filter and search for volunteer Needs by Cluster.
Creating Need Clusters
Clusters let Site Managers group volunteer Needs under shared tags. Once tagged, these opportunities can be searched or linked by Cluster.
Agency Managers can also assign Clusters when creating Needs.
Go to Volunteerism > Needs.
Select the Need Clusters tab.
Type the Cluster name in the Cluster Name field. Use a simple, easy-to-find name.
Click Add New Cluster.
Your new Cluster is ready! Return to Volunteerism > Needs > Need Clusters anytime to view which Needs use it.
Deleting a Cluster
To remove a Cluster:
Go to Volunteerism > Needs > Need Clusters.
Click the (X) under the Options column next to the Cluster name.
Once deleted, the Cluster is no longer linked to any items, and any shared links to that Cluster will stop working.
Sharing Clustered Items
To share all items under a Cluster:
Go to Volunteerism > Needs > Need Clusters.
Click the number under the Needs column.
Copy the page URL and share it anywhere!
You can include Cluster links in emails, newsletters, social posts, or feature them in site spotlights or rotators.
