Heads up! This article is only intended for Center Site Managers.

By the end of this article, you will be able to:

  • Identify when to use a training video as part of a Qualification for a Need

  • Create a Qualification that includes a required video

  • Configure auto-approval using a confirmation question

When to Use a Video-Based Qualification

If you want volunteers to watch a required video—such as safety training, onboarding content, or an About Us video—before participating in a Need, you can include that video directly in a Qualification.

This approach helps you:

  • Ensure volunteers review important information before responding to a Need

  • Confirm understanding with a video-specific question

  • Automatically approve volunteers when they select the correct answer

Create a Qualification with a Training Video

To create a Qualification that includes a required video:

  1. Go to Volunteerism > Qualifications.

  2. Click Add New Qualification.

  3. Select the Qualification Type and complete the Create Qualification page.

Recommended Field Settings

  • Qualification Type: Select Dropdown or Radio Button.

    • These options allow you to confirm the volunteer watched the video.

  • Auto Approve: Enable Auto approve if correct answer is selected.

    • Choose the answer that confirms the volunteer watched the video.

When the volunteer selects the correct answer, they are automatically approved. This is ideal for questions that can only be answered after watching the video.

Add the Video Link

  1. Toggle Add Content Link to On.

  2. Paste the video URL into the Link URL field.

  3. Enter Link Text, such as:

    • Click here to watch the training video

    • Volunteering with Us

  4. Click Create Qualification.

The Volunteer Perspective

Here's how this Qualification may appear to the volunteer, depending on how you set up the permission settings for it.
