Heads up! This article is intended for Site Managers.

You can send notification messages directly to volunteers who have the Causer App installed. This is a great way to notify users of urgent updates or other information you want to send directly to their phones.

Volunteers must have the App installed and have notifications turned on in their phone settings to receive these messages.

How to Use App Messaging

When you're ready to use App Messaging:

  1. Go to Communication > App Messaging.

  2. Add any filters as necessary. The filter automatically defaults to find volunteers who have the Causer App downloaded and notifications turned On.

  3. Create a short Message Title.

  4. Draft up a brief Message—up to 110 characters. These messages are intended to be brief, like alerts. For more complex messages, we recommend using the Email Blast tool.

  5. When you're ready, click Send Message.

Your message is delivered to the volunteer's phone. When they click the message, it takes them to the Causer App. To learn more about the Causer App, please see The Causer App: Site Managers.
