Causes are a great way to highlight your Agencies or Programs' impact on the community and establish their mission or purpose. Your volunteers can see which causes your Agencies or Programs support and match them with their own.
Custom Causes, or Core Causes, make it easier for volunteers to be directed to your nonprofit and organizations. We can also provide national benchmark reporting, allowing you to compare your performance against your peers.
We provide default Causes with your site that you can choose from, but you can personalize the name of your custom Causes to align with your needs. Causes depend on your Agencies or Programs and how they'll cater to your community.
Causes may not be available on your site. If you wish to enable this, please use the chat widget on your Site Manager Dashboard to contact us.
Here are some examples:

If you have an Agency or Program that manages a food pantry in your community... | You could select Hunger and Food Accessibility and then name your Cause Feed the Hungry |
If you have an Agency or Program that manages an after-school tutoring program for a middle school Language Arts class... | You could select Education and then name your Cause Language Arts Tutoring |
If you have an Agency or Program that offers assistance at animal shelters... | You could select Animal Welfare and name your Cause Veterinary Aid |
Remember, these are just some examples to inspire you. How you name your custom Causes depends on your needs and particular use cases.
Creating Custom Causes
Go to Settings > Causes.
Click Add A New Cause.
Select a Default Cause with the Select Cause dropdown and give your Cause a Name.
Select an Icon and Color for your Cause.
Click Submit Cause to finish.
