About Custom Causes

Custom Causes (also called Core Causes) help guide volunteers to your organization. You’ll start with a set of default Causes, but you can rename or create new ones to better align with your Programs and community focus.

Your site also offers national benchmark reporting, allowing you to compare your organization’s performance with others working toward similar goals.

Causes may not be enabled by default. To request access, use the Message Widget in your Site Manager Dashboard and ask to speak to a human agent.

Examples:

If you have an Agency that...

Then you could select and name your Cause like...

Manages a food pantry

Select Hunger and Food Accessibility, then name it Feed the Hungry

Runs an after-school tutoring program

Select Education, then name it Language Arts Tutoring

Offers assistance at animal shelters

Select Animal Welfare, then name it Veterinary Aid
