Enhancements and Updates
Exciting Update: More Flexibility for Causes, Interests, and Skills!
We’ve made an important update to Causes & Interests and Skills—you no longer need to follow an interval of 4! This means you can now add as many as you’d like and name them however you choose.
Even better, you no longer have to reach out to our team to adjust the number of Causes, Interests, or Skills. You can now manage them directly in your Settings > Causes or Settings > Interests or Skills section at any time.
This update gives you greater flexibility and control, making it easier than ever to personalize your profile.
Let us know what you think—we’re always working to improve your experience!

Enhancements and Updates
Exciting News! We've launched the new Check-in Kiosk!
The new Check-in Kiosk helps streamline the volunteer check-in and check-out experience for you and your volunteers. It also displays Needs or Opportunities for the day it's launched, removing confusion about current volunteer opportunities and mitigating any potential scheduling mishaps!
Location Location! We've moved the Hours Settings!
We aim to give you an easy and intuitive experience when using our software. This includes improving the look and feel of your site's settings, which is why we've relocated the hours approval and settings options to Settings > Hours on your Site Manager dashboard!
Update: Clickwrap-waivers! No more guesswork!
We know you're already busy trying to keep up with enough documentation and files, etc. So, we've updated clickwrap-waivers to one simplified file type requirement: .pdfs! Now, when you or anyone wants to upload a clickwrap-waiver to a volunteer Need or Opportunity, it must be a .pdf only—saving you and your organization time and guesswork when sifting through files!

Site settings just got an upgrade!
To help streamline your experience, we’ve reorganized and refined the settings to make the site more intuitive to use. The Main Settings page now features updated fields that better reflect the purpose and function of each section.
Primary Cause
*For Amplify and Sustain Site clients only
This is the Cause that most aligns with your organization's main objective. You can create a custom Core Cause for this field.
Nonprofit Category
*For Amplify and Sustain Site clients only
This is the Nonprofit Category that best describes what type of organization you manage.
Site Logo
We moved Site Logos to the main Site Information area under Settings > Main Settings > Site Information.
Who We Are & What We Do
*For Amplify and Sustain Site clients only
We've added two new fields to the Site Information area for Amplify and Sustain clients.
Who We Are: Share your organization's history and mission statement here. This is a great place to include important information about your organization to help inform the volunteers visiting your site.
What We Do: Share your goals, contributions in the community, and types of volunteer work available. Use this field to inform volunteers about what they can expect to do and how it impacts the community!
Corporate Project Contact Name
*For Center Site clients only
The name provided here identifies the point of contact for organizations using Volunteer Link. If you opt to promote your volunteer Needs through Volunteer Link, then the contact information provided here helps inform where to send project requests.
Corporate Project Contact Email
*For Center Site clients only
The email provided here is where project requests will be sent if you opt to promote your volunteer Needs through Volunteer Link. When you connect with Volunteer Link, you help your organization build a stronger community and expand your reach. Companies and organizations using Volunteer Link can then send project requests to your Corporate Project Contact to coordinate those efforts.
Responses
We have moved a few settings to the Responses tab, including:
Require Emails for Team Registrations
Show Pop-up After Action
Hours & Kiosk
You can now find your site's hours settings under the Settings > Hours > Hours & Kiosk area. This includes:
Hours Settings
Hours Approval
Check-in Kiosk
Available settings on your site may vary from those in the example since all sites are set up differently.
Promotions
We've added a Promotions tab found under Settings > Promotions. Here, you can opt to share your volunteer Needs or Opportunities with companies or organizations using Volunteer Link. This lets you build community and expand your reach.
Connect to Volunteer Link: Toggle this on if you'd like the option to share volunteer Needs or Opportunities with companies and organizations using Volunteer Link.
Automatically promote my opportunities on Volunteer Link by default: Toggle this on if you want your Needs or Opportunities to be automatically shared with companies and organizations in your area using Volunteer Link.
For Center Site clients only: If you choose to share your Needs through Volunteer Link, please note, companies and organizations using Volunteer Link may reach out with project requests.
Direct Site Connections
If you'd like to learn more ways to connect with organizations in your community, please contact us through the Message Widget and ask to speak to a human agent to discuss those options.
Additional Updates and Changes
Need/Opportunity forms
We've updated the layout of the Create or Edit Need/Opportunity forms! These changes include:
Need/Opportunity Cover Image
You can now personalize your Need or Opportunity with a cover image! Click Choose File beside the Cover Image field on the Create or Update Need/Opportunity form and upload your image to get started.
Promotions and Sharing
There is a new section on the Create Need/Opportunity form or Update Need/Opportunity form called Promotions and Sharing. Site Managers, Program Managers, and Agency Managers can select promotion and sharing options here, as applicable.
Privacy: Choose the privacy for this Need or Opportunity.
Public: Users can see the Need or Opportunity and respond to it.
Private: The Need or Opportunity is not visible to the public and must be shared via a link, User Group assignment, etc.
Initiative: Select the Initiative this Need or Opportunity is associated with. This won't be available on all sites, only sites with Initiatives.
Promote this opportunity on: Use these fields if you wish to share this Need or Opportunity with companies and organizations using Volunteer Link.
Available settings under the Promotions and Sharing section vary. You may only see the Privacy setting here, depending on your site.
Additional Options
The rest of the Need/Opportunity options, like whether or not the opportunity occurs outside, any additional important attributes you wish to share, or where you upload a clickwrap waiver, are found under this section. Just click it to expand the menu options, make your selections, and be sure to click the Create or Update button to save those changes.
Missed Connections Reports
We've added two new missed connections reports! Now when a volunteer responds to a non-dated volunteer Need or Opportunity, they'll receive a notification 7 days after responding, asking if they have heard from the nonprofit. If they haven't, then the Site Manager can follow up with the volunteer to ensure a great experience.
Volunteer Missed Connections Report
To see a list of missed connections with volunteers, visit Reports > Users > Volunteer Missed Connections Report.
Agency or Program Missed Connections Report
To see a list of missed connections with Agencies or Programs, visit Reports > Agencies or Programs > Agency/Program Missed Connections Report.
Ongoing Need Volunteer Follow Up Notification
To edit or manage the notification that is sent 7 days after a volunteer responds to a Need or Opportunity, visit Communication > Notifications > search for Ongoing Need Volunteer Follow Up.
The Ongoing Need Volunteer Follow Up notification won't appear in your automated notifications until a missed connection occurs.

App Release Notes – October Updates
We’ve recently released two updates to improve your experience and fix critical issues in the app.
Updates Summary
Version 4.0.5 (App Store release, 10/13) – Available for both iOS and Android.
Over-the-Air (OTA) Update (10/28) – Applied automatically via the app, no App Store download required. You may have seen a small update banner.
These updates address the majority of the most critical bugs reported by our users.
What’s Fixed
Volunteer Accounts & Opportunities
Volunteer accounts now properly display historical data, including past opportunities and logged hours.
Newly created opportunities and shifts appear in the correct date order.
Ongoing, Flexible, and Runs-Until Opportunities no longer require a shift selection before logging hours.
Volunteers can log individual hours (not tied to a specific opportunity) based on site settings.
App Navigation & Interface
Bottom navigation menu on Android devices no longer overlaps the app menu.
Waitlist option now displays only when an opportunity is full.
Hours logged via check-in/check-out now follow your site settings instead of showing as “entered.”
Volunteers can now edit hours already submitted.
The requirement to select an organization has been removed for volunteers connected to only one organization.
Same-Day Opportunities
Resolved: Users should now be able to view same-day opportunities. This was fixed via an API update, so no new app version download is required. QA tests are ongoing, but the fix should be available to all clients.
Known Issues
Updated 10.29.25
We’re actively working on a couple of remaining issues:
Android login issues: Some users may still experience login problems. We have fixed part of the issue, but not all users will see improvement yet.
Same-day opportunities: Some users may be unable to see same-day opportunities. This is a critical bug, and our team is fully focused on resolving it.
We appreciate your patience as we continue to address these issues.
What’s Next
We’re continuing to monitor reports and make fixes to improve app performance and reliability. If you encounter any issues, please make sure your app is up to date and reach out to support with any details, including your device type, app version, and screenshots if possible.

App Release Notes
OTA 4.0.5.3 Update
The latest Over-the-Air (OTA) update addresses several key issues and improves your app experience. No app store download is required.
What’s Fixed
Primary Fixes
Individual hours logging: Volunteers can now log hours for an organization without having responded to an opportunity. The "hours not part of an opportunity" toggle is always visible.
Notifications page: Notifications should now appear properly for all users.
Android SSO login: Temporary redirect back to the login page after SSO login is fixed. Users may still notice a minor processing time before the dashboard appears.
Additional Fixes
Required fields indicator: The asterisk for required fields in opportunity headings is now visible.
Lifetime hours labels: Mismatch on total lifetime hours has been corrected—no more incorrect “hours total lifetime” labels.
Notes
This is an OTA update, so no new download from the app store is needed.
If you continue to see issues after the update, try restarting the app.

Causer App – Release Notes 4.0.7
Release Date: November 12, 2025
API update – background improvements (no client action required)
OTA update – clients will see an in-app update banner (no app store visit needed)
What’s in this release
This release focuses on stability and usability improvements across the platform. We’ve addressed several client-reported issues affecting shifts, check-ins, and opportunities, and made general refinements to help things run more smoothly while we continue to work on larger ongoing fixes.
Key Fixes
Shift & Opportunity Management
The hours description box now remains visible when enabled and marked as required.
The “It’s not time to check in yet” error no longer appears for same-day shifts.
The “No Opportunity Available” message on the Calendar view has been corrected. Opportunities now display properly regardless of filter selection—filters will narrow results, not determine visibility.
The Join Waitlist button has been relocated to its designated location, separate from the main detail page.
Calendar display now correctly shows scheduled shifts without false “You got nothing scheduled” messages.
Android users can now view all available opportunities—previously capped at 10.
Notifications & Waitlists
Waitlist users now receive email notifications if a spot opens.
Check-out button no longer appears after unresponding to a shift.
User Data & Access
Private opportunities are hidden from removed user group members.
Deleted user data and related site behaviors now work correctly.
UI & Usability
Clicking out of Add Hours now closes only the current popup, not all open popups.
“Fix the following issues” error no longer appears when all required fields are filled.
Duplicate options have been removed from the Interests filter on the Find Opportunities screen.
Connection screen search no longer shows irrelevant results.
Dashboard routing – navigating back from login no longer redirects incorrectly.
Improvements
Labels & Layout
Labels between the list view, detail screen, and check-in card for an opportunity are now more consistent.
The Manage Shifts area has been reorganized for better clarity and navigation.
Notes for Clients
Ongoing issues: If same-day opportunities are still disappearing just before shift start, this is part of a separate, active ticket our team is prioritizing.
No action required: API updates happen in the background. OTA updates will trigger an in-app banner.
Causer App – Release Notes 4.0.8
Release Date: November 20, 2025
API update – background improvements (no client action required)
OTA update – clients will see an in-app update banner (no app store visit needed)
Note: Due to app store versioning behavior, the banner may reference an update to 4.0.5. Accepting that banner will correctly update the app to version 4.0.8.
What’s in this release
This release focuses on improving reliability across check-in flows, opportunity visibility, applied filters, and volunteer hour display. We’ve resolved several high-impact issues reported by clients and volunteers and made targeted refinements to stabilize the platform while broader enhancements continue.
Key Fixes
Opportunities
Opportunities scheduled for the current day no longer disappear from the list, ensuring volunteers can check in as expected.
The “No opportunities available” message on the Find Opportunity tab after login has been removed.
Check-In & Check-Out
Manual time selections made during check-in now remain visible long enough for users to confirm, instead of reverting to the default time.
Check-in time must now be confirmed before a check-in can be submitted, reducing accidental errors.
The “Checkout time cannot be earlier than check-in time” error message now appears only when the selected times actually conflict.
Filters
The Location filter now displays in the applied filter list.
Organization and Agency filters now retain and display their selected values.
UI & Usability
Organization and opportunity names now appear in the correct header and sub-header order.
After check-out, the Check Out button no longer remains active or selectable.
Lifetime volunteer hours now display, including totals above 1,000 hours.
App profile page scroll-partially fixed; the community connections should work correctly, but the app version is missing again.
Notes for Clients
Expected behavior: Users may see a banner referencing an update to version 4.0.5. Accepting this will correctly install version 4.0.8.
No action required:
API updates occur automatically in the background. OTA updates will appear as an in-app banner and do not require visiting the app store.

December 2025
Causer App – Release Notes 4.0.9
Release Date: December 2, 2025
App Store update – reinstall may be required (see Notes for Clients)
OTA update – some users may have received the banner yesterday
The iOS update was available on 12/2/25. The Android update was available 12/4/25.
What’s in this release
This release focuses on restoring expected functionality for users who experienced a defective banner update and introduces targeted improvements to connectivity handling, hour approval logic, scheduling confirmations, and organization filtering.
This update also clarifies the current limitations on iPad support.
Key Fixes & Improvements
Connectivity & Data Sync
The app now alerts users when connectivity issues or extended idle time interrupt hours and opportunity syncing, so they can refresh and restore information.
Hour Approval Logic
Volunteer hours auto-approve only when approval is not required based on site settings.
(Previously, some hours auto-approved even when approval was required.)
Scheduling
[iOS] Selecting a date on the Schedule calendar now requires deliberate confirmation to prevent accidental selections.
Organization Filtering
The Organization filter now appears only for users connected to multiple organizations, reducing unnecessary options.
Device Support
iPads are not officially supported.
Many iPads can download the latest App Store version, but they do not receive OTA (banner) updates.
Users on iPads may see improved behavior using the newest App Store version, but iPad-specific bugs will not be addressed at this time.
Notes for Clients
Version availability:
Some users may have successfully updated to 4.0.9 after receiving the update banner yesterday.
Others may need to reinstall from the App Store to access version 4.0.9.
Installing 4.0.9 from the App Store will restore functionality equivalent to 4.0.8, plus the fixes included in this release.
No action required: API updates occur in the background. OTA updates appear as an in-app banner when available.
