Heads up! This article is only intended for Program Managers on Amplify sites who are connecting with Volunteer Link.
By the end of this article, you will be able to:
Understand what Volunteer Link is
Know how Volunteer Link affects Program Managers on Amplify sites
Understand how your Opportunities are shared (or not shared) with Volunteer Link
What is Volunteer Link?
Volunteer Link is a separate platform that corporate volunteers use to browse volunteer Opportunities from organizations across the country.
Companies with employees in multiple states use Volunteer Link to help their staff find meaningful volunteer Opportunities in their local communities.
If your organization uses Get Connected (Amplify), Volunteer Link connects those corporate volunteers to your public, active Opportunities; it does not replace your current system.
You will still manage your Programs, Opportunities, and volunteers from your Program Manager profile as usual.
How Does Volunteer Link Impact Program Managers?
Volunteer Link may bring more visibility to your public, active Opportunities. That means you could see:
More volunteers discovering your Opportunities
More responses from volunteers you may not have worked with before
More interest in your Programs overall
This is generally a benefit, but you remain in control of what is shared.
How are Opportunities Shared with Volunteer Link?
Your Opportunities are shared with Volunteer Link only if you choose to promote them.
When you create or edit an Opportunity, you can:
Share it with Volunteer Link (recommended if you’re open to new volunteers), or
Keep it visible only to volunteers in your Program
You can change this at any time in the Promotions and Sharing section of each Opportunity.
Can I Opt Out?
You do not have to opt in to Volunteer Link. Simply do not share your Opportunities with Volunteer Link, or hide them in the Promotions and Sharing area of each Opportunity.
