You might have to provide a Prerequisite or Qualification submission when you register on a site or try to view or respond to volunteer Needs or Opportunities. These requirements are important for the following:
Ensuring that you're matched with Needs/Opportunities that best meet your skills and interests
Completing waivers or reviewing important content before you volunteer with an organization
ℹ️ So you know: Some sites have language overrides in place. This means you might see Needs in place of Opportunities, Agencies in place of Programs, or Prerequisites in place of Qualifications.
Getting Qualified
If the site you respond to has requirements in place, you can submit your responses to those from your profile.
Click on your initials or profile image and select Prerequisites or Qualifications.
From here, submit any qualifications that you have listed under Incomplete Qualifications.
Be sure to click Submit Qualifications to save your changes!
Reviewing Submissions
If you need to review or update your Prerequisites or Qualifications, you can do so from your profile as well. From here, you can review their status, see when they expire, and edit them when applicable.
If a {rerequisite or Qualification can be updated, a pencil icon appears under Options for you to edit it.
Some Prerequisites or Qualifications ask you to upload a file, answer a question, or sign a waiver.
If you update a qualification, it may have a status set to pending until a manager can review and approve it.
Depending on the site, you may be asked to complete a background check on a third-party site for a qualification.
Try reaching out to the organization if you're curious about the status of your Prerequisites or Qualifications—especially if you're waiting on approval to respond to volunteer Needs/Opportunities.
