❖ Heads up! This article is intended for Volunteers. Are you a volunteer looking for support with your volunteer account, or have questions about a specific site? See the How to Get Help with Your Volunteer Account section of the How to Find Your Organization's Site article for more information!
Some volunteer opportunities let you sign up with a team. If it does, you’ll see a Respond As Team button on the opportunity page. Most opportunities are for individuals, but some allow groups to join together.
If an opportunity is for individuals only, you can sign up alone and follow the instructions for that task—no team coordination needed.
ℹ️ So you know: Some sites have language overrides in place. This means you might see Needs in place of Opportunities, Agencies in place of Programs, or Prerequisites in place of Qualifications.
Respond as a Team
Go to Needs or Opportunities from your dashboard.
Filter for opportunities that allow team responses. The options available here are dependent on the site and any language overrides they may have in place.
Click the opportunity you want to respond to.
Click Respond As Team—if the button is available.
If you've already registered individually and later decide to switch to team participation, you'll need to cancel your individual registration before selecting the "Respond As Team" option.
You can also click the Respond As Team button beside the specific shift you want to volunteer for, if the opportunity has scheduled shifts.
Give your team a title and add yourself by clicking Add Me.
Now, you're ready to start adding volunteers to your team! Click Add Volunteer to start adding your coworkers, family, or friends!
You'll need to enter the volunteer's contact information and click Add Team Member to save your changes.
Once you've added all of the volunteers to your team that you need, be sure to check the box under Leader to assign someone as your team leader.
Team leaders can manage all aspects of the team, including editing team and team member information, viewing submitted hours, adding or removing team members, and more.
Team members can't manage the team, but can accept or decline volunteer opportunities shared with them.
When you finish building your team, click Continue to select when you want to volunteer!
Each team member must create their own account and may need to meet certain qualifications specific to the opportunity before being added to the team.
On this screen, you'll select the shifts that you want to volunteer for as a team.
If you want to respond to all available shifts for that Need or Opportunity, toggle the button beside Respond to All Shifts to On.
If you want to respond to individual shifts for that Need or Opportunity, check the box to the left of the Shift Begins date and time.
Be sure to click Finish to save your changes.
If a Need or Opportunity requires a clickwrap waiver, you (the responder) must check the box to sign the waiver when submitting your response. By doing so, the waiver automatically applies to all team members you include in that response. Individual team members do not need to sign the waiver separately.
